In celebration of Earth Day, our team conducted a community initiative at Chipata First Level Hospital in partnership with the Lusaka City Council Health and Environment departments. The program focused on waste clean-up and tree planting to support environmental sustainability and promote a cleaner, healthier community.
Basava Social Welfare Foundation marked its Founder, Mr. Durga Basava's, birthday by celebrating with children at the Zambia Institute of Special Education in Lusaka.
The event featured cake cutting, food donation, tree planting and interactive activities aimed at spreading joy, promoting inclusion and supporting children with disabilities.
Basava Social Welfare Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by participating in the World Environment Day 2026 celebrations at Lusaka National Park.
Held under the theme "Accelerating Zambia's Climate Action for Green Growth and Sustainability," the event brought together government, civil society and development partners to promote environmental protection.
During the exhibition, the Foundation showcased its initiatives in environmental conservation, sustainable livelihoods and community development while encouraging tree planting, responsible waste management and environmental awareness. The Foundation also donated tree seedlings to the guest of honor, as part of its commitment to a greener Zambia.
